Tonight marks the last night of Ramadhan for this year. In reflecting the past 30 days of the Holy Month, many a days were 'imperfect' as yours truly did not have the time to fulfil the 'optional' things that one normally do during the nights.
All in all, the time was taken up by work related activities. Earlier some one has made the gravest just mistake that resulted in the corruption of a sizable portion of the production database, resulting in the total downtime of the infrastructure services of the production system.
Sizable effort has been undertaken to troubleshoot and attempt to remedy this problem. None worked. Without a realiable backup image, the virtual private database portion of the production metadata repository cannot be repaired.
Reinstallation was the only way forward... Still contents worth 3 years are gone with a tap of the keyboard
Nevertheless the gruesome process of reinstallation is under way, albeit briefly paused by the long Eid holidays.
after the next week of break, work continues so that the essential functions and features can be brought back online
Hoping that no further untoward incidents so that this project can be closed in a proper manner
