The government has warned against excessive use of micro-blogging sites like Facebook and Twitter, arguing that they could erode the country's culture, a report said today.
Rais Yatim, the information and communication minister, said Muslims and other religious groups must be wary of the Internet as it was introduced by the West.
The Minister has spoken. Social networking sites has been identified as potential catalyst to erode a nation's culture. Be wary of the Internet. It is full of evil lurking in every corner since it is introduced by the West.
Yet, my posting last night was about Broadband penetration. I'm confused. The Government wants to have 50% of broadband penetration into Malaysia yet we have to be wary of the Internet? That's like leaping forward only to take a couple of steps back every time.
Guys/Girls.. be wary of the Internet... it's full of creepy crawlies... don't say that you've not been warned!!!
